Air Jordan 5 “Poison Green”
Color:White/Infrared 23-Light Poison Green-Black
Release Date: June 6th, 2015
Dated for release this June 2015; the Air Jordan 5 Poison Green is currently setting sneaker news abuzz with its combination of neutral and eye catching colors. A classic of the Jordan line, Nike went a little retro with this one, creating a flashback sneaker of the 90s – but a little bit better.
The top is neutral – basic white made from leather, as expected. The tongue however is speckled – but that’s not the best part. A dash of Infrared 23 can be found in the sole, blending into a neon green design and finally, a little hint of blue at the tail end. The red and neon green should be far from an ideal match but somehow with the neutral top color, Air Jordan managed to pull off another great, classic combination.
There’s black plastic netting on the silhouette which perfectly balances the whiteness of the top. To further enhance the infrared and poison colors, Nike opted to keep the shoelaces white, making sure that the sole keeps the attention of everyone who dares to look. It’s actually part of the “Jordan Remastered” line so Nike is expecting lots of demand for this one. Hopefully, the shoe brand will be making enough to go around.
You can judge for yourself with the images circling around today, but it’s easy to see that Nike did something different with this one. According to image sources, it’s dubbed as the “Space Jam” of Air Jordan 5 although obviously, it’s far from what Jordan actually wore during the movie. The ubiquitous jumping man still rests on the tongue, colored in bright Infrared 23 to make it stand out.
This brilliant move on the design really says a lot on Nike’s remastered’ concept. Originally a symbol of the Chicago Bulls with the colors red, white, and black – Nike decided to go on a whole new direction without losing that unique’ vibe. It’s the neon-green that really sets off this design and sneaker news is willing to bet, there won’t be much speckled neon-green in the upcoming series. A combination of two extremes – bland white and eye-catching green – the Air Jordan 5 Poison Green manages to pull off a vibe no one else managed so far.
For the 30th year anniversary of the brand, they’re releasing the Poison Green for an affordable price of $190. Carrying the top quality workmanship expected of the Nike products, it’s a little hard not to test this classic against the rigors of everyday life.
The Jordan release date for Poison Green is expected to hit the shelves on June 6th so make sure you’re ready well before that time.
