The Air Jordan sneaker was born way back in 1985, which is one of Michael Jordan’s greatest legacy (besides basketball itself). This shoe brand has transformed the athletic footwear industry ever since its birth. Today, the Air Jordan continues to build on its history of innovative design by establishing a higher benchmark with each year’s model for both adults and kids alike. In fact, Air Jordan 1 has been releasing Looney Tunes inspired sneakers. There is the Lola Bunny (Air Jordan 1 Mid Girls “Lola Bunny” and Air Jordan 7 GS “Lola”) released just this April and the Hare Jordans, a bunch of different bunny inspired editions (Air Jordan 7 Hare, Jordan 1 Hare) that also slated for release the same month. This is why it is no longer a surprise that another Space Jam and Looney Tunes inspired sneakers has been created, the so-called Air Jordan 1 GS “Tasmanian Devil” that is due for release on May 2015. It is a proof that the Jordan Brand is going to hone in on the Looney Tunes collection this year.
As the name suggests, the shoe is designed after the Tasmanian Devil later shortened to and sometimes referred to as Taz. He is one of the main characters of the Looney Tunes series as well as one of the villains. He is widely known for his extremely short temper and impatience, which makes him spin out of control. Thus, this Air Jordan 1 edition is dressed in bright crimson, court purple, brown and white color scheme in order to represent Taz. It is definitely a fun design made especially to suit the kid’s taste.
The sneaker has a ‘white’ base upper with ‘court purple’ overlays, brown detailing as well as bright crimson accents which is undeniably color popping. On the sides, it looks like the shoes are scuffed but this represents when Taz does tornadoes (as has been mentioned, when he spins out of control). It will include a “Taz” logo which has been seen on the “Lola Bunny” and “Bugs” Air Jordan 1 models.
Probable the date of release is on May 6, 2015 at selected Jordan brand retailers as well as in Nike.com. Too bad, ‘Air Jordan’ 1 GS “Tasmanian Devil” is a kid’s exclusive. On the brighter side of things, the dads could still own one provided that their kids wear them. Grade school sizes will be available but not the lower sizes. The retail price is set at 90USD. Watch out for its release for your kids and for all you kids at heart.
