Kicking off the year 2016, Russell Westrbook adds another design to his growing collection with the BHM. In case you are wondering, these kicks stand for “Black History Month”, making this iconic colorway something cool to look forward to.
Jordan Westbrook 0 Premium BHM
Release Date:January 16, 2016
Sneaker News just released images of how this Westbrook kick is supposed to look and we have to admit, Westbrook certainly has a knack for designing aside from his part in the Oklahoma City stat line.
These new shoes might well be the most luxuriant of the Westbrook releases, clad all in black with hints of metallic gold that just lends sophistication to the overall design. It features an ostrich texture which is evident from the pictures, capped by a translucent outsole that boasts of a shade combining blue and white – a little icy at first glance. Oddly enough, this works well with the black shade of the silhouette.
The iconic Jumpman logo is also placed on the center of the tongue which is also clad in ostrich black. The icon is purely black in color as well but slightly raised to make it stand out from the overall look of the shoes. The laces are done in black with the lace slots done in metallic gold. There’s also a gold lace lock and with the shoes generally done in black, the golden portions of the BHM can’t help but stand out when worn.
Other parts of the shoe are clean cut with very little icons or logos to ruin the overall effect. We’d have to say, Westbrook outdid himself with this one as the BHM managed to pull off a perfect blend of luxuriously tasteful. Markings and linings can be found all over the body but they’re generally there to add dimension to the overall look and feel of the kicks. The icy blue sole might throw you off at first but pretty soon, it manages to create a statement for these kicks.
Anyway, the Jordan release date for the BHM is set for January 16, 2016 which isn’t a long way off. The price however, might be a little steep for those who want a pair of these iconic shoes. At a price of $200, they’re well worth it however considering that there’s every indication that the Westrbook BHM will be a classic.
Scheduled to be released in selected Jordan Brand stores, watch out for the Jordan Westbrook 0 Premium “BHM” just in time for the Black History Month!
