Back in June last year, Jordan Brand gave sneaker fans a preview of their upcoming retro lineup for the Spring Jordan releases 2016. It was meant to be an early clue in of what has to come in with their new releases. The reveal on Sneaker News showed several pictures of sneaker collections found in “Poster”, “Alternate”, and “Dunk From Above” sporting all-new colorways, especially for the Air Jordan 2s, Air Jordan 4s, Air Jordan 5 Lows, and Air Jordan 12.
Air Jordan 12 Retro The Master
Style Code: 130690-013
Release Date:February 27,2016
On the spot on this post though is the other half of the Poster Collection – the Air Jordan 12 “The Master”.
If you are a fan of Michael Jordan, then you might remember the iconic “The Master” poster which is the same poster that inspired the “Poster Collection”. Just imagine MJ clutching a ball poised in mid-dribble. He is wearing some athletic wear that looks murdered out. A pair of white OG 12s is gracing his feet and he has some very good lighting with the help of the golden sun to make up for the perfect backdrop. Now imagine those colors again in shoe form and you will have a good picture of what The Master AJ12 look like.
The new Air Jordan 12 has literally taken a remastered look. The black color palette definitely abounds while the white accents are very minimal it looks like they are doing a peek-a-boo right from their midfoot placement. There is also the lavish gold eyelets that hold everything together on top and it looks very top-class. The premium black leather is a definite boot add to that the fact that it is styled with snakeskin-like patterns and a ridged-body. If you are not convinced yet, you might want to take a look at the carbon fiber based bottom that is a direct contrast with the hints of white found on the mudguard. The white accent also hides the “Jumpman” brand on it.
If the Air Jordan 2 features a unique heel branding with the words “Wing It” from the 1987 poster, The Master also sports a unique heel branding with the name Jordan and the words underneath it, “Quality inspired by the greatest player ever”. There is also the Jumpman branding in black right at the grayish heel tab and MJ’s number 23 stenciled on the heel bottom.
All in all, the The Master Air Jordan 12 looks classy and simple on its own. The pair will have its official Jordan release date on February 27 which is more than enough time to save up $190 for its price.
