There are only two days before the official opening of the All-Star Weekend and to mark the event, Jordan Brand has prepared a new and flashy sneaker to drop by, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High “All-Star”.
Air Jordan 1 Retro High All-Star
Color:White/Midnight Navy-Metallic Gold Star
Release Date:February 14, 2016
Nevertheless, it looks like JB will be holding out nothing and will go all out for their retrofitted AJ1 given that it will have its official Jordan release at the eventful All-Star Weekend. According to Sneaker News, the new All-Star Jordan 1 Retro would be a tribute to Michael Jordan’s achievements for his very long career on court. That is, Jordan Brand will celebrate MJ’s celebrated career by making the new Air Jordan 1 Retro High a mirror to MJ’s run and walk on the hardcourt.
For one, the shoes’ ankle collar will be using scoreboard stats by way of the digital font features. This is just to give a nod to some of MJ’s accomplishments like the five MVP awards he has won over the years, the six championships he participated in, and the legendary scoring he did during his career as a Chicago Bulls’ member where he started.
While the Air Jordan 1 Retro All-Star pays tribute to Michael Jordan, it lacks the customary color of the Chicago Bulls’ red and white color scheme trademark. Instead, the shoes are dressed in a smooth black base highlighted with crossing patterns that takes the quarter of the pair’s heel and paneling. There’s also the eye-catchy design that is passport infused signifying the spread of Michael’s accomplishments.
The “flashy” look of the All-Star Air Jordan 1 Retro High comes with the Metallic Silver Nike Swoosh; which isn’t surprising at all given that they have the pair event ready for the All-Star Weekend in Toronto. On the heels are some faint argyle patterns subtly placed together with the stitched Jumpman in what looked like a navy blue color. Right on the tongue is the silver metallic Jumpman and the original Air Jordan Wings done in the same color placed on the same side as the Swoosh. On the insole is MJ’s number, 23 enclosed in a ball design with another patterned circle surrounding it.
Jordan Brand finished the look of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High All-Star with an icy translucent outsole sporting the Nike Swoosh. The pair will have its debut right on Valentine’s Day, February 14 – which also happens to be the end of the the All-Star Weekend.
