During the second half of 2015, Sneaker News provided a few peeks of different Air Jordan 9 Lows. This year, we will be seeing more of Air Jordan 9s as part of the Jordan releases for 2016. Jordan Brand will continue its retro run of the shows and will focus on producing them in Low form. The latest Air Jordan 9 Low set for release this April would be the AJ9 Low Black and White, also known as the “Snakeskin”.
Air Jordan 9 Low
Release Date:April 16,2016
On earlier news, the Black, White, and Gym Red colorways of the new Air Jordan 9 Low looks very much similar to the Derek Anderson AJ9. However, the difference lies between the build of the two shoes. that is, the Snakeskin Air Jordan 9 Low is dominated with a Black leather upper which is accentuated with a textured overlay of black snakeskin running full-length on the heel and the mudguard. The addition of the Red accents is also tastefully done for the AJ9 Low Black/White while the white rubber outsole provides the shoes a clean look.
For sneaker heads and fans, having the Air Jordan 9 Low back on the shelves is a welcome after its last release which was 13 years ago in 2002. For fans who know their way about Jordan Brand, the collection of the Jordan 9 Lows is notable for its status of being a Player Exclusive. While it might be true that MJ never did lace up a pair for during his games for the Bulls or any other games, other JB athletes have worn the shoes in style and in cool game like Mike Bibby and Derek Anderson giving the low-tops its well-known status. Nevertheless, the new pair of the low-top Air Jordan 9 looks more like a “Bred” pair rather than a Derek Anderson’s due to its color scheme.
Up close, the red insole of the Air Jordan 9 Low looks very stylish against the black leather upper with its snakeskin overlay. The white midsole gives the shoes its clean look making it sleek and chic overall. Most of the branding are also done in red and pays much tribute to Michael Jordan. For one, the heel sports the red Jumpman over a globe-like circle with MJ’s number, 23. There’s another red Jumpman on the sides and outsole which stands stark against its white background. Instead of the Jumpman, the tongue shows off an Air Jordan branding stitched into the shoes while the outsoles shows off some sort of Asian characters together with other more indecipherable design.
The Air Jordan 9 Low is slated to hit Jordan Brand stores worldwide on April 16 at $170. Stay tuned for more updates.
