Air Jordan 12 Retro French Blue
Color:White/French Blue-Metallic Silver-Varstiy Red
Release Date:April 2, 2016
But unlike other retro releases that made another comeback, the remastered Air Jordan 12 French Blue isn’t any different from its original release. This only shows that there is not much to fix with this Air Jordan pair but JB decided to do a retro release of it anyway. Just like before, the remastered French Blue 12 will use the pebble and premium tumbled leather with an almost exact replica of the shoe’s original shape.
Predominantly, the shoe is more white than French Blue with the latter color seen only on the toe box panel. There is also the addition of subtle red accents found on the heel, insole, and outsole to balance the overall color scheme while silver highlights also add a touch of luxury and elegance to the somewhat underrated shoes from the Air Jordan 12 line up.
The pair also sports stitching designs found on the upper leather. This “Nisshoki” –inspired stitching is taken for the rising sun of the Japanese flag with its rays radiating outward – which makes the pair carefully designed. There is also the presence of a carbon fiber sheath and Jordan’s infamous Air sole feature for better comfort. Jordan Brand also made the shoes’ traction feature better by adding a modified herringbone pattern right on the shoes’ outsole.
Up close, the silver metallic design on the eyelets look very tasteful and stylish while the “Jumpman” branding on the side of the French Blue toe box is subtly placed. On the tongue is the French Blue Jumpman with the words “TWO3” running down its length. The red Jumpman logo set against the French Blue insole is also very obvious. On the heels, there is a little white Jumpman logo on the heel tab, the name Jordan on the length, and MJ’s jersey number 23 on the lowest part.
