Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG – Re-Issue of a Legend

Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG

Largely anticipated out of all the Jordan releases 2016 is the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG. Not surprising considering how this is the Jordan silhouette that started all the other silhouettes. At the very least, it’s part of the batch that really got the Air Jordan brand going.

For their 2016 release however, Nike decided to do more than just release a basic colorway. You’re probably most familiar with the red-black-white color combination that just makes you stare at it, no matter how far you are. Indeed, it’s the kind of color combination that’s made to stand out in court, combined with engineering features that makes it the perfect sport shoe.

The Red-White-Black OG boasts of a white trim with red transcending through specific parts of the kicks. The black is incorporated as the color of the Swoosh design, beautifully added along the sides and balancing the look. The Wings logo is placed on both sides of the high portion of the shoes where the ankles sit. There are two sets of laces offered for this mode: black and white. Either one looks perfect, especially since the tongue is made in white, therefore allowing it to blend perfectly with the overall design. To complete the look, the Jumpman model stands out in the center of the tongue, small but stitched in red so it’s very easy to see.

As mentioned, the red-white-black Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG color combination is a classic, but Nike chose to improve on the colorway. Other combinations exist including the Powder Blue design, the Black Gum, the Black-White and possibly a few more. Hence, if the Red-White combination isn’t your thing, then you’ll probably have to check out the others in the market. Word of warning though, some of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG colorways may be out of stock since they were released in 2015, such as the Powder Blue model.

The classic Red-White-Black, however, is available this 2016 with a price tag that’s still up in the air. With the shoes already incredibly popular, Sneaker News did not really have to release images of this beauty. Still, there might be some changes made by Nike for this re-issue so if you want the 2016 version; you better see them once they’re out.

All in all, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG has earned its place as the the most popular shoes in the market place. Every good collector definitely needs this in their collection, if they haven’t already.
