Air Jordan Spike 40 Low
Color: Black/Fire Red-Pure Platinum
Style Code: 833459-002
Last February, we got our first look with the low top Air Jordan Spike 40. At a first glance, the new silhouette shoes of Spike Lee looks like it got its inspiration from the Fourth of July. Why not, it’s dressed up in a combination of the Red, White, and Navy Blue colors which look very patriotic in style. Earlier images showed an upper dressed in full White accentuated with Navy Blue overlays. The Red detailing can be seen on the Mule lace lock and the oversized design of the Mars Blackmon 40 Acres. Jordan Brand finished it off by giving the shoe a translucent blue icy outsole to complete the overall look of the shoe.
Given that the Spike 40 is Spike Lee’s very own signature shoe, it’s only fitting that his newest low form silhouette have the Mars and Mars branding. The dynamic duo of black and white spots have become an icon in the sneaker industry, thanks to the genius of the legendary director, Spike Lee. As a lifestyle shoe, Jordan Brand made sure that this new pair will get the attention it deserves by putting in all the sneaker essentials and one of Jordan’s coveted branding which is none other than the Nike Air.
Sneaker finders would be glad to know that final images of the Spike 40 – released just days ago – showed a silhouette with Platinum overlays, White and Red accents, and a synthetic black upper. This is somewhat far from the July Fourth-themed colorway of the earlier photos.
On closer inspection, the upper is made of Black woven synthetic while the Platinum overlays, which look silvery, grace the heel, tongue, and eyestay. Jordan Brand also added a speckled White Cement accent on the midsole and finished it off with the icy outsole, of course. As for the branding, JB used a Red Jumpman over the Platinum tongue. The same brand is dressed in White found on the insole. Right on the heels is the coveted Nike Air branding. Overall, the shoe looks very lifestyle-like – it’s all chic, sleek, and stylish.
