Everyone knows the Air Jordan 13 Low silhouette, but “Chutney” is something else altogether. Part of the Jordan release 2017 line-up, this new addition should make Air Jordan lovers fall in love with yellow all over again.
Air Jordan 13 Low Chutney
Size Run: Mens
Release Date:June 10, 2017
Style and Design
While some of this year’s new Jordans were rereleased less than 10 years ago, the “Chutney” design goes back a little bit further. The first ever Air Jordan 13 Low “Chutney” came out in 1998 and was one of the first off-court non-performance releases.
For the 2017 pair, Air Jordan decides to stay true to the classics by combing two basic colors of black and yellow. The official colors are chutney and black with chutney basically being an orange-yellow shade that’s hard to find anywhere else. That’s probably why these kicks are something that will grab the attention when worn anywhere and at any time.
The silhouette follows the classic lines of the Air Jordan 13 Low. The black covers the vamp and extends all the way to the tongue. The chutney shade takes over most of the side portion, including the quarter panel and stopping just before it covers the heels. The beauty of this design is that Air Jordan made sure the shoelaces are done in black instead of opting for the other primary color. That’s definitely a good decision since chutney colored laces isn’t exactly abundant in today’s market. Should you find the need to replace your shoelaces, you can be sure that there’s one available anywhere you look.
The iconic Jumpman is also prominently displayed on the shoes as befitting the silhouette. On the tongue’s center you’ve got the Jumpman stitched onto the material, this one done in a subdued shade of chutney. Just a bit off center of the heels is another Jumpman icon. Instead of being stitched however, this appears to be a metallic material in near-gold coloring with the black leather as its background.
Adding texture to the design is the signature dimpled pattern of the Air Jordan 13 Low. The soles are kept black with just an edge of yellow as an outsole.
Price and Release
The product will be available on June 10, 2017 with a $175. That is surprisingly cheaper than other Air Jordan brands in the market today although not by much. They will be available in different Air Jordan stores with supplies that should last for a long time – unless of course, lots of people decide to own a pair of this classic. Make sure to watch out for yours or any other releases this 2017!
